Getting Started on a Project

Congratulations on being selected! This guide walks you through everything from contract signing to project kickoff.

Selection Notification

When you’re selected for a project, you’ll receive:
  1. Email notification with project details and next steps
  2. In-app notification on your dashboard
  3. Status update in “My Applications” showing “Selected”

Pre-Project Steps

Review the Offer

Check the project terms, rate, and timeline. Make sure everything matches your expectations.

Sign the CIIAA

Complete the Confidentiality, Invention, and Intellectual Property Assignment Agreement.

Sign the Contractor Agreement

Review and sign the project-specific contractor agreement.

Attend Kick-off Call

Platform ops schedules a kick-off call with you and the client.

Start tracking time and working on deliverables!

Contracts & Agreements

CIIAA (Confidentiality Agreement)

The CIIAA is a standard agreement that covers:

The CIIAA must be signed before you can access project materials or begin work. This protects both you and the client.

Signing the CIIAA

  1. Navigate to the CIIAA in your project or via notification
  2. Review all sections carefully
  3. E-sign using your full legal name
  4. Receive a confirmation email with a PDF copy

Contractor Agreement

The contractor agreement is project-specific and includes:
  • Your hourly rate or fixed fee
  • Project timeline and milestones
  • Deliverables and acceptance criteria
  • Payment terms
  • Termination conditions

The Kick-off Process

Before the Kick-off Call

Prepare by:
  • Reviewing the full project scope
  • Noting any questions or clarifications needed
  • Testing your video/audio setup
  • Having access to the project workspace

During the Kick-off Call

Typical agenda:

  2. Project overview (10 min)
  3. Scope walkthrough (15 min)
  4. Technical setup (10 min)
  5. Communication preferences (5 min)
  6. Q&A (10 min)

After the Kick-off Call

You should have clarity on:
  • Who your main contacts are
  • How to access any required systems
  • Expected communication cadence
  • First deliverable and deadline
  • How to escalate issues

Accessing Your Project

Project Dashboard

Your project is accessible at:
  • Dashboard > Projects > [Project Name]
  • Or directly via notification links

Communication Guidelines

Project Chat

Use the project chat for:
  • Day-to-day communication
  • Quick questions and updates
  • Sharing progress
  • Requesting clarifications

When to Escalate

Contact platform ops when:
  • Scope disagreements arise
  • Client is unresponsive (>48 hours)
  • Access issues to required systems
  • Payment or contract questions
  • Any conflicts or concerns
Keep all project-related communication in the project chat. This creates a record that protects both parties and helps platform ops support you if needed.

Contact platform ops immediately. Brief delays can usually be accommodated, but communicate early.
Raise this in the kick-off call or immediately after. Do not proceed with misaligned expectations.

You can withdraw before signing agreements. After signing, withdrawal is more complex and may have consequences.
